She was predeceased by : her parents, Stanley Eugene Powell and Lora Lee Underwood Powell; her husband Marvin J. Franklin; her sister Linda Powell Utley; and her niece Lisa Utley Langley.

She is survived by : her son Marvin Eugene; her stepdaughter Robin Clause (Ben); her sister Joyce Powell Johnson; and her grandchildren, Evynne and Ethan Franklin. She is also survived by her extended family and many friends.
