He is survived by: his children, Jan Whitted Oldenburg (Lawson Oldenburg), Cheri Whitted Bowers (Robert Bowers) and Alvis Monroe Whitted III; his sister Molly Whitted Messer; his stepdaughter Elena Hunter; and his grandchildren, Thys Whitted Oldenburg, Téa L. Bowers, Luke A. Whitted and Benjamin L. Whitted.
