He was predeceased by: his mother Maggie Coleen Gregg Helton; his wife Hazel Sue Cline Helton; his sons, Thomas James Helton Jr. and Calvin James Helton; and his sisters, Minnie Anderson and Mami Robison.
He is survived by: his daughters, Maggie Fulbright (Joey) of Newton and Peggy Gross of Hickory; his granddaughter Nellie Dunn (Jeff); and his great grandchildren, Azaya Anderson, Cassidy Goodwin and Brayden Goodwin.
