He was predeceased by: his parents, James Phillips and Bessie Phillips. He is survived by: his spouse Vee Sawyer Phillips; his sons, Ronald Lee Phillips (Gwendolyn) of Gilbert, AZ and Bernard Phillips (Marie) of Kernersville, NC; his siblings, Willie Phillips of High Point, NC and Betty Phillips Roberson of Greenville, NC; and his grandchildren, Jason Phillips, Demetrius Phillips, Darius Phillips, Andrea Phillips Williams, Averina Bagley, Sarah Wilson and Brandon Wilson. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
