He is survived by: his parents, Fred Eston Smothers and Lettie Ellington Smothers; his wife Becky; his children, Rick (Joanna) of Wrightsville Beach, Tom (Debbie) of High Point and Beth (Shawn) of Bennettsville, SC; his grandchildren, Erin, Jes, Sara, Becca and Ashley; and his sister Lucy.
