He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Ashley Humphrey and Nellie Virginia Giles Humphrey of Fort Wayne; his siblings, Harold Homer Humphrey Sr. of Lynchburg, Paul Ashley Humphrey Jr. of Lynchburg, Gurley Ann Humphrey Johnson of Lynchburg and Joline'Jo'Humphrey Mills of Charlotte; and his former wife Ann Lucas Congelli of Rocky Mount.
He is survived by: his former wife Sally Cecil of Mount Pleasant; his daughter Ashley Nell Humphrey-Cook; his grandson William'Will'Cook of Traverse City; and his friend Richard Bruder of High Point. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
