Though Mildred may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Mildred touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Welch and Shirley S. Welch. She is survived by: her husband James Swain Jr.; her daughter Theresa A. Swain; her grandsons, Jeraime R. Thompson and Graigory R. Thompson; and her sisters, Jane Hull and Ledra W. Walker. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, family, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Turners Chapel AME Church. A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
