She is survived by: her daughter Carol Hanes (Ryan) of Salisbury; her daughter-in-law Jane Goodman Smith of Clemmons; her grandchildren, Dr. Kathryn Hanes-Romano (Victor Romano) of Kannapolis, Andrew Hanes (Megan) of Trinity, Rachel Smith of Clemmons and Natalie Sahloff (Chris) of Winston-Salem; her great grandchildren, Audrey, Duncan of Emmy, D. J. and Grayson; and her friends, Andrew Chaney, Gray Marion and Annie Kitching. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in her memory to: The American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, two charities close to her heart, or to Hospice of Davidson County.
