It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Loyd (High Point, North Carolina), born in Franklin, North Carolina, who passed away on June 13, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Mary Ellen departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Mary Ellen may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Mary Ellen leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jeff Massey and Reola Massey; and her sister Louise Chavis of High Point. She is survived by: her son Willis LaShay Covington of High Point, NC; her niece Lutricia Mirwani of High Point, NC; and her grandchildren, LaToya Murphy of High Point, NC and Willis Covington of Clemmons, NC. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, a host of great-nephews and nieces many friends.
