He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Joe Towsend and Betty Lindsay Townsend; his brothers, Willie Towsend and Charlie Townsend; his aunt Cora Tillman; and his uncles, Edward Lindsay, Freddie Lindsay and James Lindsay.
He is survived by: his children, Keyona Townsend and Dexter Townsend; his grandson Dexter Jr.; and his brother Alex Townsend. He is also survived by one nephew; great nephews, aunts, uncles, many cousins, and friends.
