He is survived by: his wife Gretchen; his sons, John Marion (Ann) of Whitsett, Eric Marion (Melissa) of High Point, Clay Marion (Jen) of Wake Forest and Casey Marion (Sun Ju) of Greensboro; his grandchildren, Sammie Cassell (Dianna), Callie Marion, Emma Marion, Quinn Marion, Mikaela Marion and Lena Marion; his great grandchildren, Ashley and Morgan; and his brother Ben Marion (Linda) of Liberty.
