She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lee Jones and Bernice Throckmorton Jones; her brothers, Warren R. Jones of Florida and Clarence Lee Jones of Ruther Glen, VA; and her former husband George W. Atkinson.
She is survived by: her sister Evelyn J. Dean of Mechanicsville, VA; her sister-in-law Judith Jones of Ruther Glen, VA; her husband Maxie W. Doby; her son G. W. Atkinson, Jr. (Lorraine) of Raleigh; her grandsons, Warren B. Atkinson of Raleigh and Wesley "Wes" G. Atkinson (Margaret Ellen) of Kinston; her son Terry W. Atkinson (Mary) of High Point; her granddaughter Holly Griffin (Kyle); her great grandchildren, Paris and River of Trinity; her stepson Mark W. Doby (Cathy); her grandchildren, Caroline M. Doby of Thomasville and Adam J. Doby (Ashley); her great grandchild J. W. of High Point; her stepdaughter Melanie R. Doby of Thomasville; and her friends, Glenda, Ann and Sandy.
