She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Kemp Atkinson and Lloyd Atkinson; her husband Rev. William Lax, Jr.; and her daughter Phyllis Lax Lawson. She is survived by: her children, Sandra Wright of Raleigh, NC, Cheryl Lax Hingleton (Garry) of Greensboro, NC, Shawn Lax (Veronica) of Jacksonville and Renee Lax of Takoma Park; and her grandchildren, Valerie, Dana, David, Robin, Wackima, Erica, Geneva, Tiffany, Simone, Shawn, Jr. and Kayla. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
