Though Frances Beard may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Frances Beard touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Jackson Beard and Annie Lee Davis Beard; her husband Richard Kenneth Wilfong; and her pet Cricket. She is survived by: her daughter Rebecca Wood (Russell) of Jamestown, NC; her stepgranddaughter Jessica Lothian; her great grandchild Abby Lothian of Greensboro; and her pet Sophie. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home & Crematory (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601). A celebration of life was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home Chapel (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601).
