She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover Cleveland and Minerva Mccraw Herndon; her husband John Wallace Beard; and her siblings, Grover Herndon, George Herndon and Ellen Groot.
She is survived by: her children, John "Jay" Beard of Southport, NC, Martin Clauder (Jacquelyne) of Gonzales, TX, Ellen Beard of High Point, NC, Cynthia Beard (Bill Musick) of Greenfield, IN and Kay Rutledge Beard of Anderson, IN; her siblings, Tom Herndon (Ruth), Minerva Van Wagner, Fann Lewis and Thetus Smith; her grandchildren, John Thomas Beard (Jessica), Brandon Michael Beard (Emily), Samantha Taylor Beard, Molly Landis Beard and Nathaniel John Musick; her stepgrandchildren, Anna Ballenger (Jason) and Noah Musick (Hannah); her great grandchildren, Kayla Jayde Beard, Keira Riley Beard and Kullen Gabriel Beard; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Lillian Ballenger, Grace Ballenger, Braden Musick, Vance Musick and Elaina Musick.
