He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Smith and Eloise McFadden Smith; his wife Bertha Williams Smith; and his siblings, Ann Carol Coachman, Abigail Smith, Carley Smith, Richard Smith, Palmer Smith, Stoney Smith, Lawrence Smith and Larry Smith.
He is survived by: his siblings, Diane Bethea of Dillon, SC, Mattie McCall (Wilbert) of High Point, NC, Rose Smith of High Point, NC, Francis Smith of High Point, NC and Roger Smith of Greensboro, NC; and his close friends, James Quick and Raymond Smith. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins.
