He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Caldwell Phillips and Lorenee Ingle Rhymer; and his siblings, Cecil Phillips, Gary Phillips and Jean Phillips Davis.
He is survived by: his significant other Carolyn Phillips; his daughter Christy Phillips-Brown; his son-in-law Jason Brown of Charlotte, N. C.; his son Scott Phillips of Trinity, N. C.; his sister Ginger Phillips; and his sister-in-law Nancy Phillips. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
