He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur O. Cox and Clara Hill Cox; and his siblings, Arthur Cox (Buckey) and Betty Cox. He is survived by: his wife Linda Allen Cox; his daughter Tracy Cox Briggs (Randy) of Kernersville; his sister Shirley Dyson of Kernersville; and his grandsons, Trevor Briggs and Travis Briggs.
