He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl William Benfield and Josephine Marie Saunders Benfield; and his sister Donna Lammonds. He is survived by: his children, Jeff Benfield of Thomasville, Melissa York (Tony) of Liberty and Brian Benfield (Rose Shova) of Mechanicsville, VA.; his grandchildren, Emily York, Andrew York, Nicholas York, Alyssa Benfield and Cody Benfield; and his siblings, Ted Benfield (Kelli), Barbara Horton and Phyllis Edwards.
