He was predeceased by: his parents, Shelton Harris and Teesa Greene Harris; his siblings, Merthel, Lois, Buel and William; and his pet Bear.
He is survived by: his wife Lou Wyatt Harris; his sons, Alvis Wesley "Wes" Harris, Jr. (Lisa) of Greensboro, Edward "Eddie" Harris (Barbara) of Greensboro and John Deland Harris (Jennifer) of Oak Island; his grandchildren, Katie Kroustalis (Gus), Matthew Harris and Nicholas Harris; and his great grandchildren, Kinsley, Alex, Reid and Ella.
