It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilma Leigh Blankenship of Hiddenite, North Carolina, born in Buchanan, Virginia, who passed away on February 12, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Matney and Edna Matney (Justus); and her siblings, Haven Matney, Ira Matney, Herman Matney, Ray Matney, Carter Matney, Jerry Matney, Myrtle Matney, Shirley Stacy, Lorine Keen and Geraldine Wilmer.
She is survived by: her son Jerry Blankenship (Amy) of Hiddenite; her siblings, Richard Matney (Jo) of Hurley, VA. and Christine Stacy of Grundy, VA.; her grandchildren, Robbie Blankenship (Hannah), Kendall Blankenship and Mattie Blankenship; and her great grandchild Everleigh.
