He was predeceased by: his parents, James Dwight Matlock and Bera Keever Matlock; and his brother Gene Matlock. He is survived by: his children, Amy Michelle Elder (Kevin) of Taylorsville and Nelson Dwight Matlock (Tonya) of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Dillon Church, Trevor Wyatt, Hannah Matlock, Justin Matlock and Hunter Matlock; his sisters, Joy Steelman (Richard) of Hiddenite and Nancy Mecimore of Hiddenite; and also Danny Loudermelk.
