It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jay Lynn Bunton of Hiddenite, North Carolina, who passed away on March 28, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Albert Bunton and Lydia Poole Bunton; his former wife Carol Marlowe Bunton; and his siblings, Edna Marlowe, Betty Brown and Bill Bunton.

He is survived by: his wife Hilda Bradshaw Bunton; his children, Donna Honeycutt of Maiden, Michael Bunton (Kathy) of Hiddenite and Cynthia Sacona (Jason) of Hiddenite; his grandchildren, Heath Honeycutt (Peggy), Wesley Honeycutt, Jenna Adams (Clark), Molly Cox (Jake), Tristan Walker (Courtney) and Grey Sacona; his sisters, Joann Hayes of Woodlands, TX and Sylvia Miller (Cliff) of Rockwell, NC; and also Heath Honeycutt.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hiddenite Baptist Church (250 Hiddenite Church Rd, Hiddenite, NC 28636). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
