He was predeceased by: his parents, Coy Emmitt Smyre and Johnsie Rhodes Smyre; and his sister Lynda Lea Smyre DeHart. He is survived by: his wife Joice; his son Greg Smyre; his grandchildren, Greg Smyre II (Kerby), Madalyn Abbot (Alex) and Miranda Smyre; and his great grandchildren, Gregory Thomas Smyre III and Clarence "Clay" Ray Smyre.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home (1031 11th Ave Blvd SE, Hickory, NC 28602). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
