She is survived by: her husband Charles Douglas "Doug" Gilbert; her daughters, Amber Gersch (Carl) of Hickory, Chelsey Houston (Taylor) of Murray, KY and Kelly Schaeffer (Blake) of Cary; her brother Dale Abernethy (Alice) of Granite Falls; and her grandchildren, Jacob Gersch, Hayden Schaeffer, Clara Schaeffer, Charlie Gersch, Kane Houston, Daniel Gersch and Kallie Houston.
