He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Eggers and Mary Eggers; and his son Brian Deal. He is survived by: his children, Michelle Emser, Rodney Eggers (Lindsey), Jason Eggers (Teresa), Christy Dollarhide (Coleman) and Kellie Floyd (Al); his pet Patches; and also, Betty, Carolyn (Charlie), Christine and Barbara (Cary). He is also survived by his family with 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home & Crematory (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home Chapel (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Catawba Memorial Park (3010 US-70, Newton, NC 28658).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Valle Crucis Community Park or Samaritan's Purse. Keep Robert "Red"'s legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
