He was predeceased by: his parents, Romulus Howard Wood and Bernice Cheek Wood. He is survived by: his sons, Philip Scott Wood (Anissa) of Hickory, Jason Howard Wood (Emily) of Hickory and David Lee Wood of Hickory; his siblings, Vernon Lee Wood (Cher) of Charlotte and Jo Wood Ridgill (Charles) of Kernersville; and his grandchildren, Hannah Ashlyn Wood of Hickory, Anna Grace Wood of Hickory and Jacob Philip Wood of Hickory.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home - Jack Bass Memorial Building (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601). A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Pleasant Home Bapitst Church Cemetery (2253 Byrd Rd, Roaring River, NC 28669).
