She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Sigmon and Ruth Bost Sigmon; her husband Bob Barnette; and her sisters, Millie Thomas, Elizabeth Yount and Sally Cline.

She is survived by: her children, Kathy Powell (Allan) of Conover and Robert "Butch" Barnette (Renee') of Hickory; her grandchildren, Ashley Bridges of Beaufort, Nathan Bridges (Gabriella) of Hickory, Saylor Barnette of New York and Seth Barnette of Bethlehem; and her great grandchildren, Robert Allan Bridges and Daisy Love Barnette.

A celebration of life was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hickory Funeral Home Chapel (1031 11th Ave Blvd SE, Hickory, NC 28602).

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Andrew's Lutheran Church or Amorem Support.
