It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Linda Kay Austin of Hickory, North Carolina, who passed away on September 20, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Linda Kay has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Bill Mosteller and Mary Louise Lindsay Preslar; and her siblings, Glenn Preslar Jr. and Mary Ann Preslar. She is survived by: her son James Allen Austin (Lori); her grandchildren, Whitney Austin Smith (Michael), Megan Austin Henry and Tiffany Faith Hill; and her brother Ralph Preslar Sr. (Linda). She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring or Humane Society.
