It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LaRue Smith of Hickory, North Carolina, who passed away on February 19, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of LaRue Smith to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Andrew Helton and Alma Sue Pope Helton; and her brother Frank Helton. She is survived by: her daughters, Samantha Jolly (Rick) of Hickory and Tiffany Huffman (Justin) of Conover; her grandchildren, Caity Withers, Hailey Huffman, William Barlow, Bash and Jules Huffman; her great grandchildren, Keegan Pendergrast and Kohen Huffman; and her siblings, Brenda Moretz of Grace Chapel, Wendy Taylor (Terry) of Hudson, Mike Helton (Becky) of Grace Chapel, Jeff Helton (Maria) of Grace Chapel and Shawn Overcash (Lori) of Taylorsville.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Dudley Shoals Baptist Church (1882 Dudley Shoals Rd, Granite Falls, NC 28630). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
