He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Cohen Waters and Laura Turner Waters; his wife Doris; and his siblings, Charles, Bill, James, Hoot, Monnie, Dess, Deanie and Vene.

He is survived by: his children, Mike Waters (Hillary), David Waters (Debbie), Melva Grabar (Ron) and Janice Bolick; his grandchildren, Devin Waters (Allison), Kristen McMackin (David), Dia Hartsell (Rob) and Robbie Venable (Angie); and his siblings, Clara Hefner, Sue Johnson and Jess Waters. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 4420 County Home Road, Conover, NC, 28613.
