He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Zemri Houser and Mary Ida Wesson Houser; and his siblings, Evan Houser, Hoke Houser, Ellis Houser, Ford Houser and Earlene Parker.

He is survived by: his wife Julia Houser; his children, Michael Houser (Jan), Diane Faw (Buddy), Teresa Houser-Worrells and Sarah Christopher; his stepdaughters, Sharon Aiken (Brad), Angela Townsend (Donald) and Judy Killian; his grandchildren, Nadia Wilson, Katie Trivette, Tara Faw, Drew Worrells, Jet Christopher and Jay Christopher; and his pet Charlie. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Grace Baptist Church, 627 Rink Dam Road, Hickory, NC 28601.
