He is survived by: his children, David Kale (Sandra) of Waxhaw, Nelson Kale (Elaine) of Hickory, Jesse Kale of Hickory, Donna Vrla (Justin) of Bessermer City, Mary Lail (Ron) of Hickory and Diane Phillips of Willow Springs; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Ramsey (Chris), Adrienne Maynor (Russell), Moriah Carter (Josh), Laura Blevins, Sara Farrell (Elliott), Kala Hedrick (Josh), Drew Phillips, Dave Phillips, Chris Kale (Catie), Melinda Gordon (Johnny), Zelina Kale, Alex Kale and Callista Kale. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
