She was predeceased by: her parents, J. Plato Gilliam and Lunda Lowman Gilliam; her husband Howard Franklin Fulbright; her son David "Pete" Fulbright; her siblings, Paul Gilliam, Ralph Gilliam, Edgar Gilliam, Carl Gilliam, Eva G. Harberson and Anniebelle G. Marlowe; and her grandchildren, Kimberly Fulbright and Jason David Fulbright.
She is survived by: her children, Gary D. Fulbright (Barbara) of Hickory and Betty Fulbright Little (Earl) of Hickory; her daughter-in-law Lucinda Fulbright of Taylorsville; and her granddaughters, Paula Gambill (Greg) of Taylorsville, Michelle DeBord (Ron) of Ennice, NC, Rebecca A. Coxey of Taylorsville, Wendy Abee (Scott) of Granite Falls and Tara Cook (John) of Newton. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home Chapel (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Fairview Cemetery (1741 9th St NW, Hickory, NC 28601).
