He was predeceased by: his parent Nicholas Joseph Burke; and his siblings, Patricia Burke and James Thomas Burke. He is survived by: his parent Margaret Veronica Keenan Burke; his spouses, Marguerite Mary Flynn and Lillian Mary Soden Burke of Hickory; his children, Margaret Mary "Meg" Barrett (Joseph), Gerard Nicholas "Jerry" Burke of Asheboro, Matthew Kieran Burke (Melissa), Missy, Grizzard of Charlottesville and Sean Michael Burke of Hickory; his grandchildren, Ryan Barrett (Jessica Crespi), Colin Barrett (Devin), Neil Barrett, Kevin Barrett and Nicholas Barrett; and also Joe.
