He was predeceased by: his parent Garfield Harold Kanupp; his sister Iris Ann Overweg; and his grandson James Hatherley. He is survived by: his parent Mamie Rich Kanupp Speagle; his wife Lois Vernon Kanupp; and his children, Scott Edward Kanupp (Melissa) of Lenoir, Steven Lee Kanupp (Emily) of Hickory, Sherry Rae Hatherley (Edward) of Oklahoma, Stefanie Lynn Robinson (Mark) of Hickory and Shannon Jo Wallace (Michael) of Shelby. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethel Evangelical Reformed Church of Hickory or Hospice of Burke County.
