She was predeceased by: her parents, Ransom Hudson and Lula Propst Hudson; her husband Vance Ward Jr.; her sons, Vance David Ward and Terry Lloyd Ward; and her siblings, Wilson Propst, Alvin Hudson, Jack Hudson, Willie Hudson, Myrtle Wells, Edith Rhyne, Pauline Heavner, Mary Boyette, Edna McArdle and Dorothy "Dee" Clark.

She is survived by: her children, Judy Burns (Dennis) of Hildebran and Steve Ward of Hickory; her daughter-in-law Jackie Ward of Morganton; her grandchildren, Sandra Knuckles (John) of Hickory, Katie Ward of Cary and Bryan Duckworth (Karen) of Hickory; her great grandchildren, Carson Duckworth of Hickory and Tanner Duckworth of Hickory; and her brother-in-law Jim Clark of Biloxi, MS. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
