He was predeceased by: his parents, Geneva Anderson Watson and Robert Sidney Watson; his wife Mary Elizabeth "Kitty" Wallin Watson; and his sister Rebecca Nelson. He is survived by: his daughters, Kathy Robinson (David) of Hickory and Cindy Grant (Greg) of Evans, GA; his siblings, Peggy Ward of Hudson, Terry Shaw (Steve) of North Wilkesboro and Steve Watson of North Wilkesboro; his friends, Christine Palmer and Michael Boyd of Hickory; his granddaughters, Natalie Stair (Marshall) of Knoxville, TN, Melissa Murphy (Jesse) of Franklin, TN and Katharine Fritz (Michael) of Wilmington, NC; his great grandchildren, Stella, Watson Stair, Olivia, Jackson Fritz, Ben, Genevieve and Wyatt Murphy; and his pet Bogey Watson.
