He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn Adams; his siblings, Charles Adams, Jr., Reginald Adams, Vernon Adams Sr. and Ethel Jones; and his sister-in-law Lucille Adams.
He is survived by: his sons, Donald Gonzales (Denise Syms), Roger Syms (Greta Adams), Donavan Jones (Jessica Richardson), Joseph Williams Sr. (Robyn Taylor) and Darryl Best; and his grandchildren, Ashly, Keona, Amir, Joseph Jr., Alexander, Alea, Shaneequa, Manny, Brittany, Christana, Chelsea, Sarai, Kalani, Sha'areef, Alya, Jabari, James, Caleb and Michael Jr.. He is also survived by one brother-in-law, 3 Aunts, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Viewing was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Horton's Funeral Home and Cremations (509 Dobbs St, Hertford, NC 27944). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
