She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Lee and Sarah Elizabeth Cartwright Evans. She is survived by: her husband Marty; her children, Elizabeth Rene Markham of Elizabeth City and Kevin Ray Markham (Tanya) of Pittsboro; her siblings, Raymond Earl "Squirrel" Evans (Sheila) of Elizabeth City and Kay Sawyer (late Baxter) of Shawboro; her grandchildren, Ryan Byrum (Erin), Sara Byrum, Michael Doukas, Melina Doukas, Sydney Markham, Alex Markham and Nathalie Markham; and her great grandchild Graysen Byrum. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Miller & Van Essendelft Chapel (1125 Harvey Point Rd, Hertford, NC 27944). A reception was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Miller & Van Essendelft (1125 Harvey Point Rd, Hertford, NC 27944).
