He is survived by: his significant other Albemarle Builders Supply; his children, Vickie Meads Winslow (Stanley) of Hertford, Jo Anne Meads Jones (Bernie) of Hertford, Joseph I. "Joey" Meads, Jr. (Beth Lane) of Hertford and Tony Hunter Meads (Julie) of Portsmouth, VA; his brother Fred Meads (Frances) of Elizabeth City; his great grandchild Melvin Jackson; his grandson Matt; his caregivers, Ronda Williams, Nola Moss and Cheryl Sawyer; and also Elizabeth Meads. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
