It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jo Ann Tatum Morris of Hertford, North Carolina, born in Elizabethtown, North Carolina, who passed away on February 24, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nash LeGrand Tatum and Ida Francis Suggs Tatum; her husband Donald S. Morris; her brother Nash LeGrand Tatum, Jr.; and her close friend Tony Key.
She is survived by: her nephew Nash LeGrand Tatum, III; her daughters, Barbara Morris and Melanie Morris James (Derrick James); her granddaughter Mariah Mary James; and her close friends, Tim Weaver, Kindra and Johnny Faulk.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 207 S. Church Street, or to the Hertford Fire Department, P.O. Box 32, both in Hertford, NC 27944.
