He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Franklin Hollowell and Nannie Elizabeth Umphlett Hollowell; and his siblings, Annie Mae Hollowell, Clifton Hollowell, Thomas Franklin Hollowell (late Vera) and Willie Jay Hollowell.

He is survived by: his sister-in-law JoAnne Hollowell; his nieces, Mary Hollowell, Laura Hollowell and Bonnie Whitehurst; his nephew Wayne Hollowell; and his friend Mike Rucker.
