He is survived by: his wife Annie; his children, Yvonne Costley of Franklin, VA, Brenda Smith of Chesapeake, VA, Bernard Griffin of Horsehead, NY, Willie Lynch of Littleton, NC, Hubert Horton of Chesapeake, VA, Andre Horton of Hertford, NC and Darius J. Horton of Hertford, NC; his grandchildren, Mande Woodbury, Toshonda Costley, Danielle Smith Jones, Roger Holmes, Kurt Voitsberger, Clarissa Horton, Jerel Horton and Delton Horton; and his great grandchildren, Taron Robinson, Hurley Holmes and Amelia Horton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Horton's Funeral Home and Cremations (509 Dobbs St, Hertford, NC 27944). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Missionary Church (211 Hyde Park St, Hertford, NC 27944). An entombment was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Princess Anne Memorial Park (1110 N. Great Neck Rd, Virginia Beach, NC 23434).
