It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ervin Eugene Mansfield of Hertford, North Carolina, who passed away on April 29, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Jesse and Helen Byrum Mansfield; and his brothers, Jesse Ray Mansfield and Frank Mansfield (late Phyllis). He is survived by: his wife Diane Chappell Mansfield; his children, Shawn M. Biggs (Brian) and Ervin E. "Buddy" Mansfield, Jr. (DeAnna); his stepchildren, Corey Pierce, Stacey Pierce, Kevin Pierce (Kristin) and Jolie Raper; his grandchildren, Brennan, Carson, Avery, Samuel Biggs, Justin (Hope), Jordan and Madison Mansfield; his stepgrandchildren, C. J. (Carolyn), Dylan, Gracie Pierce, Kelsey Carter (Taylor) and Barry Ward; his great grandchildren, Aurora Rohde, Silas and Grayson Pierce; and his siblings-in-law, Judy Mansfield and Elton Chappell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
