He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Forrest and Marjorie Florence Northrup Hanson; his daughter April Hastings; his siblings, Molly Tanner, Judy Hanson and Duane Hanson; his son-in-law Richard Edward Ashley, Sr.; his wife Jo Ann Holdren Hanson; his children, May A. Campen (Webb) of Edenton and Jason B. Hanson of Englewood, Colorado; his brother Arlan Hanson of Fargo; his grandchildren, Rick Ashley (Shauni), Steve Ashley (Kimberly), Brityn, Brooke, Michael Joyner (Autumn) and Autumn Todd; and his great grandchildren, Rick III, Wyatt, Sadie, Saylor, Dalton, Hayden, Eli, Farrah and Athena.
He is survived by:, Troy Blevins (Cheryl) and Jeff Wood (Jodie).
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at 106 Soundview Rd, Hertford, NC 27944. A reception will be held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM.
