He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Bethany Thompson; his daughter Sheila Joy Gilchrist (Kenneth); his grandchildren, Jacob and Megan Gilchrist; his siblings, Linda Orwig (Burt), Gene Thompson, Tony Thompson and Bill Thompson (Barbara); and his parents, Nathan Hale Thompson (Winona Ruby Thompson) and Wayne. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Snug Harbor Community Church (133 Fir St, Hertford, NC 27944).
