She was predeceased by: her parents, John Beason and Evelyn Smith Beason; her husband Max Burgess; her sisters, Doris Swofford and Linda Norman; and her granddaughter Amy Warlick.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Melton (Gary) of Bostic and Gregg Burgess (Dixie) of Union Mills; her siblings, Mike Beason of Shelby, Cathy Stanley (Troy) of Forest City and Pam Coverdale (Larry) of Port Charlotte, Florida; and her granddaughters, Stacy Melton, Anna Rhodes (Evan), Patti Cuthbertson (Ned) and Taylor Roach (Wesley). She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
