She was predeceased by: her parents, Zack Gettys and Berdie Alice Smith Gettys; her husband Robert Roosevelt Self, Sr.; her children, Margaret Self, Virginia Wease and Jimmy Wayne Self; and her siblings, Ruby Edna Ledford, Marigold Gettys, Hattie Terry and Zack Gettys.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Self, Jr. (Margaret) of Golden Valley, Don Self (Judy) of Golden Valley, Paul Self (Dorothy) of Ellenboro and Mary Lovelace of Bostic; and her brother Roy Gettys of Bostic. She is also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren, fifty-three great grandchildren, thirty-six great-great grandchildren and ten great-great-great grandchildren.
