She was predeceased by: her father Oswald Maurer; her husband James Vallar (Jim); and her brother David Maurer. She is survived by: her children, Barbara Russell (David Walter) of Georgia and Tom Vallar (Becky) of New Hampshire; her grandchildren, Benjamin Russell, Daniel Vallar (Kanako) and Brittany Vallar; her great grandchildren, Noah Vallar and Kai Vallar; her niece Deb Maurer; and her nephews, Peter Maurer and John Maurer.
